Bakersfield Sound Family and Friends Reunion

Overview

Come join renowned country music historian, Scott B. Bomar and Bakersfield musicians for a film
screening of the 1988 Grand Opening of the Bakersfield Country Music Museum (BCMM). This
historic event was captured on film by Inez Savage & Henry Sharpe at the Kern County Museum.
This feature home movie highlights the speakers, dedications, and musical performances shared
on that remarkable day. Also on display will be Patti Peak Doolittle's 10 iconic Bakersfield Sound
musician’s portrait paintings along with other music artifacts. Discover how the BCMM building
was resurrected into the Bakersfield Sound Exhibit! On Sunday, Dec 15th, the Kern County
Museum invites the public to visit the Bakersfield Sound Exhibit free of charge between 9am
& 3:30pm. As Cousin Herb Henson always sang, "Y'all Come! Y'all All Come to See Us If You Can!"
