Welcome to GEHAMS, Golden Empire Historical and Modeling Society – GEHAMS The Society strategy is to reach out to schools, youth organizations and the public in order to educate people concerning the historical and economic impact of railroads in Kern County. The society will construct scale models of railroads in order to demonstrate their history, operations, and safety. The society will maintain a library and repository of historical artifacts pertaining to railroads. We are located in downtown Bakersfield, CA on Eye Street – between 20th & 19th. Entrance is East off Eye St. down the Service Street Alley Green Elevator Door is about 150 ft. on south side of alley.
