Bakersfield Among Busiest U.S. Cities for Events in October

Bakersfield will experience unusually high impacts from events next week, based upon new research from PredictHQ. According to the October 2022 Event Index, the week of October 16 will be an especially busy one in Bakersfield. In fact, Bakersfield is among cities with the highest Event Index scores in October.

Nationwide, 32 cities were identified using the PredictHQ Event Index: a unique algorithm per city to identify the impact of upcoming events, comparing it to five years of previous event data. It generates a score out of 20 per week per city, with anything over 15 meaning a city will experience significantly more events or larger events (usually both) than normal.

Bakersfield scored 17.4, one of the highest Event Index scores, for the week of October 16. According to Visit Bakersfield, events contributing to the surge in Bakersfield during the week of October 16 include USA BMX Fall Nationals at Metro BMX, Hot Rod Reunion at Famoso Dragstrip, SRL October Classic at Kern County Raceway, and Via Arté Italian Street Painting Festival at The Marketplace.
