To uncover the cities that are most accommodating to dogs and their owners, SmartAsset analyzed 97 of the largest US cities.
Bakersfield stood out for its performance in the study’s individual metrics on dog parks per 100,000 residents and average annual days of precipitation. Bakersfield also ranked among the top 50% of all cities for its number of dog-friendly shopping centers along with its concentration of pet stores and veterinary offices.
