Bakersfield is a city of art. One way to view much of it is on foot with ArtTrek, a walking tour of downtown Bakersfield’s public art. On ArtTrek, you can see almost 100 paintings, murals, sculptures, painted signal boxes, and art galleries. Whether you are a long-time resident, first time visitor, or somewhere in between, ArtTrek offers you something new about art in downtown. And don’t forget First Friday Art Walk beginning at 5PM at 19th and Eye streets. Galleries, restaurants, and shops are open, and local artists display their works on downtown sidewalks the first Friday of every month
